Weidenbach

On the Weidenbach stream lies the village of the same name, in close proximity to Zeiden and Kronstadt. The founding of Weidenbach also dates back to the 13th century, to the time of the Teutonic Knights (1211–1225). A Romanesque basilica was built here at an early stage. Features are still recognizable today, for example the entrance door to the sacristy. Today the Gothic hall church makes an impressive sight. After the church suffered damage from repeated attacks, it was always faithfully rebuilt. Its interior was decorated with ornamental paintings in the 19th century. Behind these, valuable 14th- or 15th-century wall paintings are still concealed today.

The defensive walls are partly still preserved. The two defensive towers are in good condition. The largest gate tower in the Burzenland region was converted into a town hall in Weidenbach. In very poor condition are the two last surviving small granary buildings.

Today the congregation numbers just over 50 souls.
